Laura Occhionero runs The Massage Clinic, a fully mobile massage practice working across Kingston and the wider London area. She comes to you, your home or a hotel, so there is no clinic. It is just her and a diary that genuinely has to work.
A "book now" button is easy. A booking system that only offers times Laura can actually make is not.
Because she travels to every client, a plain calendar is useless. Two appointments can both look free on paper while being physically impossible to do back to back across London. And when slots are scarce, two people going for the same one at the same moment cannot both win it.
We built her a clean new site with a booking system that thinks about more than a calendar:
Zone-aware availability
The system works out which zone a postcode falls in, and only shows slots that fit where Laura already is that day, with travel and buffer time built in.
No double-booking
When two people try for the same slot, only one gets it. The booking is claimed atomically, so there is no awkward "sorry, actually" email.
Deposits that keep the diary honest
Deposits are handled up front, and unpaid holds auto-cancel, so slots do not sit dead.
Hands-off reminders
Reminders and follow-ups go out on their own, so Laura is not chasing anyone.
The whole thing runs from an admin dashboard Laura controls herself: her services, prices, zones, hours, days off. No developer needed to change a price. Under the hood it is Next.js with MongoDB behind it, running on Docker and Coolify.
Someone books at 9 pm, gets a real time Laura can keep, pays a deposit, and it is just done. No back and forth, no double-bookings, no dead slots.
As ever, the stack is not the point. The point is that the booking fits around how Laura actually works, rather than the other way round.
